At regular intervals PCC conduct one day seminars devoted to Career Management. They are held in various locations around the country, though most are in the Dublin area. They are restricted in numbers so a level of individual attention is provided
The seminars are designed typically for people who may be experiencing difficulty in even getting to the first step in the job search process. That being, getting called for interview. Participants meet with PCC counsellors for a thorough seminar-like course over one full day. The course addresses all the relevant issues relating to preparation and effective job search technique in today’s difficult climate. Specific time is allocated to preparing a good, well presented C.V., Interview Training and Job Search Technique.
In addition all relevant support information is provided on disc for home use. This includes all Ireland recruitment and executive search agencies address, contacts, telephone and e-mail addresses, PowerPoint demonstrations and links to other information of use. The PCC Career Change Manual is included in two parts in pdf format. The disc also includes the PCC “Managed Marketing” for on going use. This includes information from research in the selected areas of the country where the seminars are taking place. It lists recruiters, existing employers and new company start up’s in the area. All relevant contact names and address are listed. Pre-written letters in response to adverts, cold canvass and introductions to recruiters and executive search companies are formulated, all for ease of use. The information is far superior in quality and focus to standard on-line support generally available.
As in an Outplacement programme, on completion of the course, participants will be well versed in the procedures necessary to adopt a structured and professional approach to their job search activity.
